Left Ivanhoe around 10am with morning tea along the road to Hay which is about 210km. Not much traffic but quite a few animals.
Had lunch at Booligal - the last photos are a memorial to explorer John Oxley who reached there in July 1817 & was the first European to cross the plains & The Duke of Edinburgh Hotel.
That hotel and the photo below - the One Tree Hotel were important staging places for Cobb & Co in the early days.
Arrived at Hay around 3.30 and we are free camped at Sandy Point alongside the Murrumbidgee River.
One of the local lads covered in mud yelled out “take my photo”….so we did.
Tomorrow the plan is Merriwagga.
