A fairly full day today as we went west to D’Aguilar National Park. Did 180km but this included about 50km extra to get to the start of one of the NP tracks only to come across a locked gate so had to backtrack.
First stop was at Kallangur to look at their painted water tower & memorials.
Then a little further along the road to Old Petrie Town for a quick look around and have morning tea.
Faye was busy trying to do a puzzle whilst having coffee etc. She didn’t solve it!
Then onto Dayboro - twice - after the locked gate…
The dam is North Pine.
We then did arrive at the NP.
The gantry is from an old timber mill. Then went onto a 13km track to Somerset Lookout….it was very slow and certainly gave Izzy a work out in 4wd and low range. The photos don't show the worst of it - Faye was too busy holding on!
Above is Rocky Hole and the top of Bulls Falls (not much water).
Came home via Mount Mee…
The return trip was via Caboolture and passed a painted water tower…
Got back to the van around 4.30pm and Izzy is still in one piece - but very dirty.
Tomorrow we will head to Bribie Island.
