Day 47 - Lake Wallace Wallerawang

Well this will be the last blog post for this holiday…home tomorrow.

Left Grenfell around 10.30am (daylight savings time) with morning tea at Cowra Maccas. This was the first time we have visited McDonlds on this holiday.

Then came through to Bathurst for lunch and to give Percy a big drink of 140 litres. All other towns have already increased their petrol prices but not Bathurst. Got it for $1.65.

Arrived at Lake Wallace around 4pm (we have stayed here in the past) but this time it was packed being the long weekend. Couldn’t get anywhere near the lake but found a spot near the entry. Now to watch the Eels win!!!

A few photos along the road today.

The biggest challenge was to avoid the road potholes. Having travelled in 3 states - NSW roads are the worst. We thought that today being on a designated highway the condition would be OK but not so - potholes everywhere. We were still amazed at the amount of Canola being grown.

We will be home tomorrow - hope the traffic wont be too bad being the last day of a long weekend but should be OK once we get to Sydney. Anyway we would be slower than most traffic!

Thank you for coming along on this holiday - at last we got to Kangaroo Island and we absolutely enjoyed it and needed the full 2 weeks to see most parts.

Some stats for those interested. Total kms 6,521. Petrol average cost per litre $1.70. Average cost per night for camps $21. Kangaroo Island ferry return $690. Days 48.

Until next time……Faye & Ken
