We pulled up for morning tea and straight across the road was this building -
The Chambers was originally in 1889 the Council Chambers and then was the town hall. Now it is occupied by the Coorong Cottage Industries and was filled by all sorts of home made articles, crafts and old wares.
Faye was delighted and did make a purchase as you can see above.
It was an interesting town - the ostrich celebrates South Australia’s only bushranger who rode an ostrich to rob people along the Coorong around 1890. Fayes friend “Daisy” has been travelling with us for years after purchasing at Tambo Teddies and Faye thought it was about time she came into some photos.
Then along the Coorong for a long distance…
Our next stop was at The Granites where we had lunch and then onto Kingston.
The mural was done to commemorate a huge bushfire in the area in the fires of 2019.
Then onto Robe where we are spending 2 nights. Have a site backing onto Dunn Lake.
The caravan park office was the stables in an historic house Lakeside House which is next door and not part of the van park. Both are heritage listed.
Faye has caught up with the washing after arrival.
