Day 18 - Penneshaw Kangaroo Island

Well - we are on Kangaroo Island - only a 3 year wait!

A nice drive from Normanville to Cape Jervis where the ferry leaves from. Had plenty if time as only 30km so we had a long morning tea at the lookout.

Ken had to reverse the van onto the ferry - was a bit worried about it but was relatively easy as the staff used UHF radio to guide you and the lanes were well marked.

The ferry left early as not that many on it - wasn’t full…

About 45 minutes travel and the last photo above is approaching the island.

First stop was the Info Centre to get more info and do some bookings. Then to the caravan park…

We have a nice outlook. After settling in did a small walk and then did the Kangaroo Island sculpture trail which is near the van park.

They have put paths around an old gully and gradually placing more sculptures around it…

Having an early tea as tonight we have booked an hour tour at the Penguin Centre from 7pm. Not a lot of penguins here but if you don't see any you can do the tour again.

We are staying here for 3 nights and tomorrow is markets and an Ocean Safari.
