Day 7 - Wallaroo

The rain cleared up for today so first up was the washing!

Then a look around Wallaroo…

All this area is known as the Copper Coast as it’s history is copper mining in the early days. Wallaroo has a very extensive silo system and a wharf/conveyor to load ships.

Also many murals around…

From there we went to Kadina which is a fairly large town that services the whole area. Bought petrol today for 167.9c which is the cheapest for a long time! Also went to Woolies to top up the food stocks.

And Kadina also has a painted water tower…

From Kadina went to Port Hughes for a quick look.

Lunch time was at the other town of the “Copper Triangle” - Moonta and visited the Cornish Kitchen.

After lunch to Moonta Bay where Ken “had” to walk the jetty…

Last visit before coming back to Wallaroo was the site of Moonta Mines.

Tonight we will check out the projection onto the silos in the photo above. They do it every night as an alternative to painting them.

Tomorrow the plan is to Point Turton near the southern end of the Yorke Peninsula.
