Had a good sleep in at Warren and before we left had to visit the bakery for morning tea!
Then had a brief stopover at Gilgandra and to give Percy a drink - the BP still had petrol at $1.97 - everyone else was over $2.25.
Lunch was at Mendooran where we often free camp but today came another 100km so we can get home a little earlier tomorrow.
Next stop was at Dunedoo for a look at the painted silos - had seen the horse one previously but not the others…
Also had to buy an ice cream!
These birds were in the adjacent park.
Then onto the Cassilis Park rest area. It is a huge area and there are about 6 vans here so far.
For anyone interested in stats - this holiday will be 3447km over 29 days. Overnight costs have averaged $19.01. This is higher than our usual because we couldn’t use as many free camps as planned due to the weather.
And of course we didn’t get to do any of the things we planned in Qld - thanks to the rain. However, we still enjoyed the holiday and our travel to the west. It’s worked out very well - last year when returning from North Qld our plan was to come home via Bourke - but that didn’t happen due to the Covid lockdown so it happened this year.
Thank you for following our journey…..until next time.
Faye and Ken
