Day 16 - The Gums

A nice night at Durong - through the night a storm came through - heavy rain but not for too long.

Before we left this morning went back to the General Store for coffee and muffins. Sat with some truckies who gave us up to date info on roads.

Last evening a nice rainbow & cloud formations. Still plenty of water around.

Had lunch at Miles and on the outskirts of town a nice lagoon with heaps of Lilies…

The watermelon was at Chinchilla. We were able to come straight to Chinchilla even though the RACQ said road was flooded - thanks truckies!

Then came through Condamine to our overnight camp at the The Gums golf and cricket club.

The Condamine River was a banker and will increase over next few days as all the water from Warwick runs west and they had 5 inches last night. Will eventually get to the Darling River.

Heard about the Condamine Bell? It was invented here in the 1860’s and is a stock bell.

Tomorrow we will be at St George or further. Back in NSW in a couple of days.
