Day 61 - Thargomindah

Decided against spending 2 nights at Noccundra as it was becoming very windy and dusty.

So headed off to Thargomindah but before we had gone 400m was subject to a Police check as we had NSW plates. The road at Noccundra comes from outback NSW.  Just wanted to check how long we had been in Qld. No problems and there was another police vehicle there yesterday so they were checking on vehicles that may have come from NSW via local outback roads. Seems Qld is very serious on their borders!

These photos were taken last night…

As you travel through the areas around Noccundra we noticed lots of oil wells and pipelines.

Otherwise the trip today was very quiet - hardly any traffic on mainly single lane bitumen roads.

Morning tea was at photo 4…lots of rocks around but NO Faye was not allowed to bring the big one she is looking at. However she did find some smaller ones to add to the collection already in Percy. Thats in addition to the wood pieces!

Arrived in Thargomindah for a late lunch and staying in the caravan park. Faye has done some washing but the wind had really come up this afternoon and dust flying around. A cool change has started and tomorrow 15 whereas today was 30…

Staying here 2 nights.
