Earlier this year you may have seen on TV an announcement that the largest dinosaur skeleton had been discovered in Australia. It was near Eromanga and is called Cooper and named after a 14 year old who found the first bone.
It was actually discovered some years ago but the process of site excavation and then working on the bones takes years to complete.
Photo 3 above is one of the actual bones of Cooper and the bones behind our photo above is a replica of Coopers legs.
The tour started with a video of timeline of the earth etc - many of it we personally don't agree with - but Ken had a talk with our guide later in the morning about where Noah’s flood fitted in. She understood having grown up in a Christian home but now sees it as a “nice story” but admits no one can “prove” what they believe. But it is very clear that there were dinosaurs on the earth!
Photo 4 is Ken with “Kenny” a Diprotodon. Everything is named after the person who discovered it.
Then set out for Noccundra…
With lunch at a waterhole along the way. Lots of flowers along much of the way…
Arrived at Noccundra Waterhole around 3pm…
A nice place to spend the night. We were undecided about next stop but have decided to stay at Thargomindah for 2 nights so by the time we get to Cunnamulla we might know about NSW regional lockdown.
