Day 57 - Charleville

A nice stroll last evening to the woolshed…and then back to the campfire for entertainment and damper.

A slow start for today. After a late breakfast Faye did more washing and then late morning tea in the van.

After that we went a few km further out to the Ward River to a place the owner of the property told us about. It was a Cobb & Co crossing and changeover station for the horses. Nearby on the Ward Plain it became famous when the Smith Bros landed on the first England to Australia flight on 23rd Dec 1919.

Some photos on the way back…Faye was happy to see here first eagle on this trip…

Then to town to top up Percy and do some food shopping. A relaxing afternoon.

Tomorrow off to Quilpie.
