Perhaps it was all the damper we ate at happy hour around the campfire!
The park do it every night so go through a heap of damper. Nice sunset whilst we sat. The park is on Thurlby Station and the owner Craig has a little talk each night.
Normally he would do a station tour a couple of mornings and use a bus but due to covid that stopped. However, he now does a walking/talking tour and Ken went with him this morning for 1 1/2 hours. He is a real character and has 3 degrees (including a Masters) and also works for the Qld government as well as Chairing some boards. His talk covered heaps - the artesian basin, the property, stocking and rotation, pests, vegetation, carbon capture etc etc. Was very interesting.
He used the stick regularly to draw in the dirt what he was describing! Finished up at the woolshed and also showed how to get the attention of emus…
Will take a walk to the woolshed later this afternoon to show Faye.
Faye did some washing whilst I walked and we then went into Charleville.
First up to look at their painted water tower.
With this style of painting it doesn’t look as dramatic. We assume they are local children.
Just a quick look otherwise as we had done most of the attractions in previous trips. Faye was able to get a haircut and had lunch at the RSL. Huge meals for $12. Also had to get some gas.
Still here tomorrow…
