Day 51 - Aramac

Last day in Aramac so just a look at the Tramway Museum. A private railway (tramway) was built from Barcaldine to Aramac which opened in 1913 and ran until 1975. In 1913 the Qld government refused to extend the railway to Aramac so the locals financed and built a private railway.

Also did a little shopping and saw another couple of sculptures…

A nice sunset last night and it is Aramac Creek water. The racing horse is only new - installed in the past month and also done by the lady who did the other sculptures.

Tomorrow the plan is to go to Lara Wetlands for a couple of nights. This is on a private cattle station about 13kms off the highway south of Barcaldine.

We understand there is no mobile coverage there so we will be off the air for couple of days…
