Day 12 - Fletcher Creek

A nice quiet night last night and we left at 9.30am. Morning tea along the road and arrived at Charters Towers around lunch time. Approx 200kms.

First stop was the necessities etc (empty loo and fill water) at an old poppet head. Nice if the photo was real gold!

Then went to centre of town for food shopping but first had lunch at one of the hotels (which means Faye doesn’t cook tonight)!

Charters Towers has lots of history and has many historic buildings

A further 42 kms then to Fletcher Creek for tonights stop. It as a very popular camp site and there are heaps of vans etc spread over 3 different areas.

Tomorrow we go further up the Gregory and tomorrow night we will stay along the road so we can arrive at Quinola Lakes on Wednesday.

There is no phone or TV here so blog will go sometime tomorrow. We downloaded some Netflix series onto our iPad before we left home and bought a chromecast so can still watch when no reception.
