Day 1 Holiday to North Qld - Gunnedah

Left home this morning around 9.30am with the first stop being Lake Liddell for morning tea. Was about 5 km off the Highway and we had never been there before…

Nice to see a painted water tank and some other indigenous art.

Then onto Quirindi for lunch from the local bakery…

Many towns are now having silos/tanks painted as well as lots of murals. These were  under a rail bridge in town…

As we got towards Gunnedah a little rain but cleared to see the newly painted silos…

Of course you all know who wrote “I love a sunburnt country”.

Also photos of the old water tank/museum…

We had intended to take 3 days to Qld border but in view of the covid outlook we came further today so we can get to Goondiwindi tomorrow. Qld are threatening to close the border to all of NSW. We have received our Border Passes on existing rules.

Tonight we are staying in a rest area about 7kms north of Gunnedah with just over  300km to the Qld border tomorrow.
