Nelson is only 4km from SA border so having received a permit we spent the day in SA.
First stop was Port Macdonnell where we had morning tea at a local cafe.
Next a bit further on to Cape Northumberland which is the most southerly point of SA.
Lots of interesting coastline...in the top 4 photos in the second set - they have animal names - can you see them?
The house was Dingley Dell and was the home of Adam Lindsay Gordon which he purchased in 1864.
In the 5th photo is Mount Schank which we then visited to climb to the volcano rim...
That climb tested Faye’s back but she made it!
Then onto Mount Gambier for lunch. Also visited the Blue Lake and the Umpherston Sinkhole...
After getting back to Nelson had a quick drive into the National Park but no photos for that as tomorrow we are doing a river cruise up the Glenelg River through the NP.
