Day 13 - Nelson

A very slow start to today as we only had about 90km to travel.

The Ibis was near our van at Ess Lagoon and on the way out of town noticed that they have a Kelpie Centre as the town claims to be the birthplace of the kelpie in Australia.

Most of the day today we came through planted forest as that industry is huge in this area and as we came to Dartmoor there was a huge mill and passed lots of timber trucks.

Had morning tea at Dartmoor after checking out lots of timber carvings...

The big one where Faye is standing was carved from a very large cypress tree trunk. And those alongside the road are all based on war memorials.

Arrived at Nelson around 1pm and we are in a small caravan park overlooking the Glenelg River. Staying here for 3 nights. Tomorrow we are going into South Australia for a drive along the coast and back via Mount Gambier. Have received our permit to go to SA.

And we have booked a river cruise for Wednesday.
