Day 3 - Harden

Today was a slight detour to see very newly painted silos at Harden.

Last night was very peaceful after a great dinner followed by plums from nearby trees! Also picked a heap of pears that will be ripe in a day or so.

First stop today was only 20kms to Millthorpe which is a small historic town and a tourist destination (reminded us if Morpeth). We walked around town and had morning tea at the Corner Store. Lots of people around plus a heap of Japanese tour group!

Also had a look at the old Bank of NSW building which was built 120 years ago and the bank closed in 1981. Ken remembers going there when he relieved the Manager at nearby Blayney.

Then via Blayney and Carcoar to Cowra where we went to the Japanese Gardens and lunch at the cafe.

A quick stop at the bridge over the Lachlan River where all the supports have been painted. Just a few...

Then onto Harden via Young. The silos here are very newly painted and the artist is still working on them. Seem to be almost complete...

Here are some close ups and of the artist. We had read that he only uses an image on his mobile phone and you will see from the photos of him looking at his phone whilst painting. He gave us a wave!

Tonight we are staying at the Harden showgrounds at $20 a night with power and water.

Will have another look at the silos in the morning and then we should end up at Weethalle after going through Barmedman where we lived for 2 years 1977/9.

A few sundry photos of todays travels...
