Whilst packing up this morning Ken ran into the corner of an open caravan window. Fortunately it hit just below the eye but it did a fair amount of damage. Ripped some skin off and pushed it sideways. Lots of blood to be cleaned off and got some ice onto it but it continued to bleed most of the day from cuts on the upper eye lid. Was able to drive and sight seemed OK but it was puffing up and very open to infection.
On arrival at Normanton after setting up the van went to Normanton Hospital and 2 nurses saw Ken fairly quickly. They cleaned up the eye and tried to fix the skin back but it was difficult because of its position. Covered the eye and have to see a Dr at 11.30 tomorrow. Want to keep a check due to risk of infection and see what medication may be necessary. They confirmed that eyesight is OK and no damage.
Travelled about 300km today with morning tea along the road and lunch at Lake Belmore near Croydon. Some photos of today...
We are here for 2 nights and was going to Karumba tomorrow but will wait and see what the Dr says.
