Day 30 - Sandstone

A very cold night last night! Faye did some washing this morning and then we went to meet Lady Di and get some home cooked pies/pasties. She sets up in a shelter next to the Info Centre and cooks the pies fresh as required. She is quite a character as can be seen from the first photo below...

We then set out to cover their Heritage Trail and had the pies at London Bridge for morning tea.

The trail covers an old brewery site - the cool room was a cave where Ken is standing. Then London Bridge - see separate photos below, an old battery site and then an old well. They also have very colorful windmills!

London Bridge was a highlight...

There were heaps of flowers around and here are a selection of some of them,

Sandstone Shire covers 28,000 sq kms and has a total population of only 60 people. Didn't ask how big the rates are! Noticed a house in town with a huge shed on market for $77,000.

Tomorrow we are heading towards Mullewa but will camp along the road somewhere so it is possible we wont have mobile reception.
