Day 21 - Kalgoorlie

A bit cold this morning -1, but after was a lovely sunny day. We then did a section of the tourist Golden Quest which is a book and audio to listen to. Overall did just over 200km.

The start was in Coolgardie so did the Goldfields museum first which was in the Warden's court building (photos top line) and also the Warden's original house (middle photos). Had morning tea at the local motel dining room and then the local park and Faye found of course a local bird!

Then did a loop road through some old mining territory and extinct towns. A stop at Rowles Lagoon and then onto Orabanda. The hotel there still operates so had a lovely meal there before finishing the loop back to Kalgoorlie.

Apparently the railway water tower is unique and is still used. The chimney is at a gold processing plant and is one of the highest in Australia.

Tomorrow still in Kal - a mine tour etc and some shopping.
