Day 4 - Dirrabandi Qld

First day in Queensland and sitting in front of a roaring fire in Dirrabandi caravan park.

Left Walgett around 9.30am after a quick shop at IGA.

Came through for morning tea near Lightning Ridge at the “Big Emu”.

After a quick drive around town (we had been there before) headed for Queensland! Much drier as we came north.

Just over the border is Hebel so had lunch there at the General store...

The hotel was a Cobb and Co staging place in the early days. The last 2 photos are a circle of history...

Then onto Dirrabandi where we are tonight...

The caravan park was originally a Convent and the current owners only purchased it 5 weeks ago. Had a long talk with the lady and they are Christians and be believe that they are “called” to Dirranbandi. She was a school Chaplain.

Tomorrow to Wallumbilla..
