Day 19 - Stratford

Last night at Whanganui we were camped next to Victoria Lake and they have a night time fountain...

Many colours are used - more than above photos show. Very impressive.

This morning we had a look at the adjoining Winter Garden and also a walk through a walk through aviary.

We were impressed with Whanganui and before leaving we had morning tea at Funky Duck Cafe!

Then we did the Cape Egmont loop which goes right around Mount Taranaki to New Plymouth.

The next group of photos are of Mt Taranaki which dominates the area. We got the first group of photos when the peak was visible and lower cloud but the cloud then rose to cover the peak for most of the day.

Tonight we are at Stratford and the 5th photo was taken from our motorhome in the park. The sun was setting on the other side so the peak does not appear white. The clock is in the main street and the town has a distinct Shakespeare theme.

Tomorrow we are going into Egmont National Park and then travelling the Forgotten World Highway as we head north. We are booked into a 5 tunnel rail tour on Monday.
