This morning we went out along the 309 Road to check out 3 things suggested by the Info Centre. A few km's of gravel and first up was Stu's pigs and the Awaiau Falls followed by a Grove of Kauri trees.
The big pigs just roll over so you can rub their tummy!
The last tree photo is a Siamese Kauri - one base and 2 trunks.
Back to town and to give the Maui a sort of wash as it was very dirty after the wet gravel road. Also just happened to be a bakery close by and it was nearly lunch time so had to visit! And also to buy some stuff so the fish we were given yesterday can be eaten tonight.
Then across the peninsula to the western side...
Tonight are freedom camped at Cooks Beach which is near Cathedral Cove which we will visit tomorrow. It seems appropriate to visit a cathedral on a Sunday!
The rabbit is eating his meals right next to us...
