Day 22 : Omeo

A leisurely start today as only 110km but a lot of curves as we had to climb over Mount Hotham with altitude of 1780m.

Only did 25km to Harrietville for morning tea at the bakery. Then the slow climb up Mt Hotham - over 28km we climbed about 1500m. But Percy did the job well.

Had a look around Mt Hotham...

Went a short hop to Dinner Plain and had lunch there.

Then down the mountain to Omeo - much easier with the road a lot straighter as we went along Horsehair Plain. Only a few steep downhill bits.

Arrived here about 2.15pm and we have lovely free camp alongside the river just short walk from the main street. After a short rest walked the street. A nice small town - with a cuckoo clock shop - all made in Germany. Nice to look at but not to buy at their prices...

Tomorrow we start the slow journey north. Still a lot of curvy roads to go. Probably around Eskdale tomorrow night.
