Day 21 : Bright

Last day in Bright today so we took it easy. Caught up with the washing and then some shopping whilst Ken put Percy into a carwash (it was pretty dirty).

After lunch had a rest and then went to a lookout over Bright and then went to Wandiligong near Bright to have a look at the old Chinese gold diggings. A bridge had been built to remember where they had their diggings.

And towards the end of the day Ken saw a sign to a 4WD lookout. Turns out that it was a very rough track and VERY steep in a couple of places with huge drop offs on the side. Had to keep going as couldn't turn around. It was mostly low range 4WD. Percy was happy as he hadn't used low range for years! Ken didn't mind but Faye was NOT happy. The photo above does not do it justice. Faye was too busy holding on to take
photos...

Leaving here tomorrow and we plan to go over Mt Hotham (1861m) and will stay at Omeo tomorrow night. That road is still signed "Not suitable for caravans" but have spoken to some who have done it and whilst parts are very steep heaps of caravans do it. The Tourist Info centre agree provided the weather is ok. They say that semi's and buses do it every day.
