Day 4 - towards Woomera "The Ghan"

A leisurely start to the day as we walked to the Ghan terminal as we had to check in by 11am.

As we said previously todays Ghan is 44 cars and about 1.1 km long. It is a record and all the TV networks were at the station and along the way there were people everywhere taking photos.

We settled in well and here are some photos of the train...

Had lunch shortly after leaving Adelaide - great food and sweets.

As we neared Port Pirie the train did a very slow turn and it was possible to get photos of almost the whole train. The 2 top photos try and show the length - we are about in the centre of the train. The others are some views as we travelled towards Port Augusta...

We went to the lounge later this afternoon for coffee and bickies and stayed there whilst the sun was setting so the last photo are some as we travelled along...

Dinner is coming up and then an early night as we need to get up around 5.30am for a sunrise stop for 2 hours at Marla. We get off the train for sunrise and breakfast.

Goodnight. We will send this when we get reception!
