A great train trip today on the Overland train from Geelong to Adelaide. We left Geelong around 9:25am (17 minutes early) and arrived in Adelaide at 5:30pm (25 minutes early). The time went by quickly. Morning and afternoon teas served to your seat as well as lunch...
We walked from the railway station to our apartment accomodation for the night - about 24 minutes.
Then we walked to Chinatown for dinner. Now preparing for an early night as both of us didn't sleep very well last night.
They told us today that our trip on The Ghan tomorrow will be making history! It will be the longest Ghan ever since it started - 44 cars and also the longest passenger train in Australia for well over a decade.
There will be 55 crew on the train and the train wil be spread over 3 platforms at the Adelaide terminal. Think they said will be 8 dining cars.
Tomorrow night we will be somewhere travelling up South Australia with breakfast on Monday at Marla for sunrise.
