We left Sydney last night and arrived at Kuala Lumpur at 4 am this morning. We had 5 hours to fill in but fortunately we had access to a Premium Lounge so had a small sleep and breakfast etc. Left with Oman Air around 9.30am en route to Muscat Oman. BUT the airline left our luggage in KL so that caused a few issues at Muscat airport whilst we tried to find out what happened.
Our guide for the week was at the airport so he was great in helping out. We were given 30 rial compensation (about $55) and we hope that the luggage will arrive tomorrow and the airline will send them by taxi to the hotel. Ken was not happy but I guess these things happen. The hotel is about an hours drive from the airport.
We are extremely tired tonight as we didn't sleep at all on the overnight flight and only had a small sleep today. It is very hot here....very hot. Was 41 at the airport but a little lower at the hotel as it is on the coast.
This afternoon we did a small walk around the resort but couldn't do too much as it was too hot. The pools looked great but our swimmers are in our lost luggage.... The hotel did give us some complementary clothes to assist especially as our tour tomorrow is to the mosque.
The following photos were taken today - the clouds were as we crossed the Indian Ocean and then coming into Muscat - you can see that mountains are very close to the coast and the last one is driving to the hotel.

Had a light tea tonight and its now time to sleep.
