A great breakfast to start the day with all the food you could ever want!! 5 star luxury...
We then had a Muscat tour with Said our guide for 4 1/2 hours. The first stop was the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque and it was magnificent as a building. Whilst we obviously dont go along with Islam the Mosque was a real highlight and the photos do not do it justice.
The main prayer hall was covered in a one piece carpet (think Said said it was the biggest in the world) and a huge chandelier.
We then covered lots of the city and the following photos give you a little glimpse of it.
Muscat is a city literally among the mountains and next to the sea.
We also spent quite a while at the Bait Al Zubair Museum which gave us a real insight of Omani history and culture. Couldn't take photos there but the photo of Faye with the statue was taken outside. So! Finally some photos of us...
An update on our luggage...they arrived in Muscat this afternoon and was given to a taxi to bring the cases to the hotel and we are writing this at 9.50pm and they still haven't arrived! Needless to say we are very upset and there have been lots of phone calls between us, the airport, Oman Air and the hotel trying to track down the taxi driver. PS: the 2 cases just came!!! phew...so now some clean clothes tomorrow.
One little bit more information - the food is very very expensive. VERY. And you have ro eat in the resort as they is nowhere else to go...
