We first met the Owers family in 1977 when we moved to Barmedman and were attending the same Church in Temora. They had 4 kids much the same age as our 4 and we spent lots of time on their wheat /sheep farm. Over the years we have caught up with Ian & Marie a few times but today it was great to spend a few hours with Ian & one of his sons Phillip who owns a crane business in Tumut. Marie passed a few years ago. Lots of good memories and photos shared today. Then had lunch downtown with Ian and he took us for a little drive around the area.
Phillip is the same age as our Tim. Ian early on asked was the Tim who handles the insurance for the Assoc related to us!! Said he had dealt with you Tim.
The plants growing in the 4th photo is millet which is used to make the brooms we saw yesterday.
Then a quick trip to Blowering Dam and power station which is not far from Tumut. The road to the dam wall was closed today.
Tomorrow we will meet up again at church. Leaving here on Monday.
