Day 11 - Tibooburra

Our last day here so a slow start and first up was to check out the granite at our camp….the goat posed just at the right time.

Then into town…and last nights sunset. Modern transport here!

Then had a quick look at a N/P camp outside of town where there are more granite boulders.

Then back to town for an early lunch and coffee. The afternoon was a 110km loop drive (Jump Up loop) through another part of Sturt National Park.

Early we can across this water tank…

We have seen lots of emus but they also need to drink!

Further along passed through the former Mount King station…

Then to the Jump Up country and it was one of the best we have seen…

The last lot of photos were taken at the top.

Then back to town and went to one of the local pubs for a cool drink and as it is famous for its murals…

Some of the murals…

It was an interesting time as I asked about local aboriginals seeing we are staying at a Aboriginal Land Council camp ground. Was advised that none live here - only 1 half caste. The lady was part of the Stolen generation and was trucked to Tasmania as a young girl - but eventually got back “home”. She says the town is very strongly No and that their biggest fear is that city people will feel sorry and vote Yes.

Tomorrow we will leave here and have a look at Milparinka (40km south) the  probably stay again at Packsaddle Roadhouse.
