As we said yesterday today we picked up the rest of the Cobb & Co Tourist drive which covers the route of the Cobb & Co coaches from Ipswich to Toowoomba. Basically it goes through smaller towns away from the Warrego Highway. Went through Rosewood, Grandchester, Laidley, Forest Hill, Gatton, Grantham, Helidon & Murphys Creek. Most of todays travel was through the Lockyer Valley which you may remember had major flooding in 2011 & 2013.
The town photo is Laidley where we had morning tea.
Lunch was at Helidon.
As you drive you can see why the route was chosen as it minimizes the climb up to Toowoomba as it went north and then came south into the town. The only climb was for 1.2km as seen in the above sign.
We have been to Toowoomba previously so just joined the Motorway (Tolls) and then the Highway back to Marburg.
Leaving here tomorrow & going to Tamborine for 2 nights.
