Went to Rainbow Beach early to get the low tide to see the Coloured Sands but not possible without driving through some salt water - all 4WD’s were turning around just near the town. So had to be content with photos from a distance. A life saver said that it has been really difficult for a year and todays low tide was not as low as usual.
Our second choice was a helicopter ride so rang them and were not flying today due to the weather - mainly the wind…so a walk on the beach was the result!
Good to have a strong lens on the camera…
Then morning tea at Little Parliament and then to Carlo Sandblow which is near the town. This was named by Captain Cook after one of his crew “Carlo”. A nice walk through the bush for about a km to get there…
Ken continued over the Sandblow to the edge over the Coloured Sands…
Then back to town and a quick trip to Inskip Point where most 4WD’s leave for Fraser Island.
Tomorrow we do the Mary Valley Rattler - steam train.
