Day 38 - Dimboola

A very slow start today and it was after 10.30 when we left Lake Bringalbert. There was a board detailing how playing cricket started for indigenous fellows and it started with a man from Bringalbert. Here is the info for you cricket enthusiasts….

The amount of Canola being grown is enormous - we have seen it everywhere on this holiday. Must be good prices for it!

The horse statue is in Nhill as a monument to draught horses. Tried racing a very long train - the train won! We were doing around 100kms an hour  and it left us behind…

Had a late morning tea at Goroke where there are some painted silos - we have seen these before but they are really good and Faye loves birds.

Lunch was at Nhill (the bakery of course). Then onto Arkona where they have just finished painting their silos…

You need to read the explanation of why no face on the silo.

Tonight we are free camped in the Dimboola Rec ground which is a long way from many places as you can see from the photo above.

Tomorrow the plan was Horsham which is only 36km from here but we are going to go on to Avoca. Horsham also has newly painted silos so will check them as we go through.
