Got a SMS just after 6am this morning saying that our ferry had been cancelled and to ring to for an alternative time. Took an hour on the phone waiting to find out that we had been allocated to 4.30pm today but that was subject to change due to the weather. And it did change - all the pm sailings were cancelled when we received an update at 12.30pm.
Anyway we did go into Penneshaw around 8am to see them at the Sealink terminal. The issue for us is the caravan…they seem to be giving priority to cars to allow as many people as possible to leave KI. Once we received notification that the 4.30pm ferry was cancelled Ken went back to the terminal - the lines then were huge as everyone was trying to rebook. They said it was not possible today but the lady rang the operations people on ship and we should be able to fit on the 7.30am ferry tomorrow. So after sitting around for hours (did go for coffee) in the howling wind we came back to the same camp where we stayed last night as it is only 10 minute drive and protected from the wind.
Then as Ken was typing this at 4.35pm we get another sms from Sealink advising they have received another wind warning for tomorrow morning so for the 7.30am departure we are to go the terminal for check in and a decision will be made then whether it will operate.
So - another early morning start and no certainty that we will get away….
So with all that happening - NO PHOTOS TODAY…
