Day 20 - Penneshaw

Today was spent in the Dudley Peninsula (eastern section of Kangaroo Island). First stop was at Antechamber Bay…

A small walk to the lookout. Then onto Cape Willoughby to do a tour of the lighthouse which was the first built in South Australia in 1852.

The kangaroo was the first we had seen - it was huge!

Faye wasn’t too sure about the climb but handled it fine (even the last ladder bit). Nice views at the top.

Then to Pennington Bay which a local told us about…

Interesting to see heaps of black swans in a paddock with the sheep.

Nearby was Prospect Hill which gives the best views of the island. The issue was the climb up was 502 steps but it was relatively easy as it was fairly new and the steps well done.

Interesting to have a AED available on the climb!  This is a place where you can see water on both sides as it’s the most narrow part of the island.

Our camera is fairly new so can had to try out the panorama settings - this was the result…

Tomorrow we are going to Murray Lagoon for 3 days. It is in Cape Gantheaume Conservation Park. From our research there is no mobile reception there so the blog may be delayed until the next day whilst we are out where mobile is available.
