Day 9 - Point Turton

Today we did a loop drive of 160km around the southern section of the Yorke Peninsula. We were going to Innes National Park but did the loop instead as we had camped in the N/P some years ago.

First stop was at Corny Point general store for coffee and chocolate then to the Lighthouse…

At the lighthouse the scenery and coastline was like this…

We then followed the north coast road to Marion Bay…

The thing poking out of the water was part of a very old shipwreck.

Had lunch at Marion Bay General Store and it was one of the best “Fish & Chips” meal we have had. Followed up with great ice cream…

Then came back via the Southern coast road…

Faye is pointing to Kangaroo Island which we could see in the distance. That’s the main theme of this holiday and the ferry is booked for Saturday next week.

Not sure where we will be tomorrow night as the day will include several painted water tanks as they now have a designated mural trail on the southern Yorke.
