The silos were about the author Colin Thiele who wrote over 100 books including “Storm Boy” and there was a park named after his as well.
From there into Kupunda for lunch - a town known for its murals…
The statue is over 8metres tall and is of a Cornish miner in the early days when copper was discovered.
Then a brief stop at Freeling for photos of the Gungellan Truckstop and the hotel. That should ring a bell for those who watched the TV series McLeods Daughters!
Tonight we are at Owen and camped around the oval. Did a bush walk nearby which included a Bush Chapel and Faye was able to get some bird photos.
Owen also has painted silos…
It is called Wheat bags to Sand bags and it relates to WW1 where women helped and the men filled sandbags to go to the war front for the trenches.
Tomorrow to Adelaide for 3 nights - only about 80kms. Travelled 156km today.
