Day 22 - Brewarrina

A nice quiet night next to the Barwon River. Went to town around 10am for a coffee - the one advertised was closed for the summer period!

So found a small cafe recently opened by an indigenous lady - no signage but the coffee was very good. Then took photos of some of the murals around town…

And some other items of interest…

There is an historic bridge over the Barwon River that was built in 1888…

And a couple of churches plus a shearer and old steam vehicle.

Brewarrina is a really tidy town and appears much better than when we saw it years ago.

The photos above is the Brewarrina weir and on the right hand side the fish ladders which fish use to get upstream.

Tomorrow we have booked to do an indigenous tour at their Cultural Centre.

Had lunch at the RSL Club which has a Chinese restaurant and their $12 lunch special was too big for Faye! (So doggy Bag…)

We then went to the 4 mile reserve where their boat ramp and jetty are.

With the bird in photos - he was diving for fish and couldn’t get a photo other than in flight.

Now just sitting in the shade at the river.
