Day 44 - Rollingstone

Another calm night at Hodgson’s Hideaway….left there around 9am after David (Faye’s nephew) found us on his way back to Atherton after a weeks fishing around Hitchinbrook Island.

Drove through to Ingham with a look at the Hitchinbrook lookout on the way…

Morning tea was at Mick’s Bread Kitchen in Ingham and the owners are friends of Kevin and Pat (who for many years lived near Ingham). They were so busy so not much time to talk to them but the coffee and cakes were yummy…

Had a quick look at Ingham’s Tyto area whilst we filled van up with water and other necessary duties!

Lunch stop was at Frosty Mango and then through to Rollingstone where we are staying tonight in a free camp. Still had to book through Townsville Council.

The camp is named after Vincent “Bushy” Parker (a Townsville resident who was captured in WW2 and subsequently died in 1946). The mosaic is of him.

The other photos are of Rollingstone Creek which runs behind the campground.

Tomorrow moving on towards Charters Towers.
