Day 43 - Ellerbeck

A nice quiet night other than the occasional truck on the Highway…(noise travels at night!).

Breakfast was a late one today and morning coffee before we set off to Girramay National Park only a couple of kms from our camp.

We did a walk amongst the bush and then returned on the beach. Faye did find a “treasure” - pulled some driftwood out the water at really low tide…
That is Hinchinbrook Island in the photo above and some others below taken from the lookout.

Next stop was to Cardwell and the Coral Sea Memorial and then downtown to the Info Centre…

Lunch was from the bakery and ate it on the waterfront.

Then started the Cardwell Forest Drive with the first stop at the lookout. Lots of steps to climb!!

The last 3 photos are at the Cardwell Spa…it has been fairly dry here and the water was hardly flowing. But - Faye did find a big rock to bring home!

Arrived back at camp around 3.30 pm for a rest. Home is going into lockdown this afternoon so will be interesting to see what develops.

Tomorrow going to Rollingstone just north of Townsville before we head west…
