Day 1 - Bylong

Today started with the funeral of Tom Fryer who is Rob’s father (Susan’s husband). Tom was 91 and had a massive stroke 2 weeks ago. He was a lovely man and the service today was a real celebration of his life.

So we left home around 1pm and came about 200km’s to Bylong. For some of the trip we left the highway and took back roads as we left the Hunter Valley. A late bite for lunch was at Jerry’s Plain..

Arrived at Bylong around 4pm and we are the only ones here. $10 a night. Visited the General Store across the road as Faye was not cooking! So pies for tea and they were very nice. Next to us is an historic Church and cemetery under the National Trust. Still used for weddings.

Should be a quiet night tonight...tomorrow we will travel to Bathurst and stay at Vittoria State Forest tomorrow night.

Fortunately Victoria has opened up from tomorrow so will stay with our plans.
