Left there around 9.30 and came through to Tambar Springs for morning tea and coffee from the General Store...
The Diprotodon pictured is said to have been around in ancient history and a skull and skeleton was found here so it features around town.
The war memorial was a first for Australia after WW1.
Then onto Gunnedah where first stop was Pensioners Hill which is a lookout over town and with sculptures...
Then next stop was the Gunnedah Water Tower Museum which was painted last year as a memorial for the Vietnam war.
It was converted from the original town water tower.
Had lunch alongside the Namoi River and then a quick look around the shops...
We were going to camp near town at the river but instead we came a few km’s towards Tamworth at the Redbank rest area. A few other vans around.
Some other photos of flowers/birds...
Tomorrow more painted silos and we plan to camp at Bingara.
