Today was mostly sunny with just a brief shower sometimes. Had a bit of a look at Dimboola this morning but most shops were shut being Sunday. But Ken did find a sign and a train...
Had morning tea at Murtoa and lunch in a cafe there after visiting the Stick Shed - see below.
Then came through Minyip (Coopers Crossing for the fans of TV’s Flying Doctors). Photo 4 is Emma’s Garage!
Tonight we are at Donald in a free camp at Apex Park on the edge of the main street. Last photo.
At  Murtoa we spent sometime and did a tour of the Stick Shed which was very interesting (even for Faye). It was an emergency grain storage  built in 1941 by local people and was to store grain for wartime. There were 22 emergency stores built and this is the only surviving one. It is on the National Heritage list as a Cultural Icon. There is no building like it anywhere in the world.
It is 270 metres long, 60 metres wide and 19 metres high and there are 560 unmilled poles supporting it. Most of the poles are braced and the building moves in the wind but is still standing after nearly 80 years. The last grain stored here was in 1989.
Another silo tomorrow and will probably be at Boort in the evening.
