Had a lovely night at Mary Kathleen and did not leave until about 10.30am. It was only a short 50km drive to Mount Isa.
When we had set up the van we went to the Base Hospital to get Ken’s eye checked. The staff were very helpful but still there for 2 hours. The Doctor was great and explained it well. He was very critical of the Normanton hospitals treatment and said a Dr should have seen me as he said the wound should have been stitched. He was going to follow that up with Normanton.
Anyway he removed the covering and cleaned up some blood clots. Wants to leave it open now but prescribed ointment to be put on 5 times a day. Said it should not get infected now but the stitching should have been done within 24 hours. Said it will heal with a fair lump and in need when we get home may need cosmetic surgery to even it out.
Then off to pharmacy so by the time of all that it was after 3pm so a very late lunch at Maccas. Faye has done some washing so the following 4 photos are the total for today.
