Day 43 - Jurien Bay

The weather cleared up this morning and we had sun for much of the day with showers around but seemed to miss us.

First stop was the Bakery! Then onto Cervantes where we went to Lake Thetis to see the stromatolites - first photo. Then morning tea at the beach...

Many of you know that Faye collects rocks from all over Australia and already has quite a few on this trip so when she saw this pile her eyes lit up. So Ken said NO...(just kidding).

From there we went to Nambung National Park to see the Pinnacles. First up we drove the 4.5km road through the limestone pillars and then did a 1.2km walk through them. A very interesting time with the pillars being all sorts of sizes and shapes.

Then had a late lunch and we arrived back in Jurien about 4pm.

We leave here tomorrow and not sure where we will stay tomorrow night. The weather forecast is pretty bad for tomorrow with major warnings for wind and rain developing. Could be interesting as we will be going south along the Indian Ocean Road.

We are not going to Perth and we will turn east just north of Perth. We have now decided, after talking to some locals to go to Toodyay and will stay there as a base to look at the Avon Valley.
