Day 9 - Grafton

A good nights sleep then went to Info Centre for maps etc followed by morning tea at McDonalds. Today was a trip along part of the original road to Glen Innes and was the Cobb & Co route. We went out about 80km's and the last 30km was narrow gravel that mainly followed the Boyd River. A highlight of this trip is a tunnel built in 1860's near Dalmorton,

Dalmorton in the late 1800's & early 1900's had a population of 5000 and 13 hotels and was a gold mining settlement. It is now a ghost town (the building in the photo above was the butchers shop).

Had lunch in the camping area at Guy Fawkes National Park. An interesting day.
