Day 8 - Grafton

Left Sandra about 8.30am and came about 120km to Grafton. Just took our time - the most interesting part was morning tea stop at Clouds Creek. We stopped near a tree and 2 Council employees came to empty the bins and told us the history of the tree. It is called the Hanging Tree (using the branch near the caravan) and 3 members of one family had hung themselves at the same spot over a period of years. Two brothers and their father - you can see from the plaques on the tree that the last one was in 2011. The story goes that when he arrived he didn't have long enough rope so went into Bunnings in Grafton to get some more and then went back to the same tree. Sad story and makes you wonder what was behind it all.

Was in Grafton by lunch time and after setting up a huge storm came through - was almost dark at 3pm. After that went for a little food shopping and to buy tea. We are staying here for 3 nights.
