Left Coolamon & travelled the Canola Way to Junee - it lived up to its name as canola was growing everywhere and mostly during the day. Obviously a very common crop to grow now.
Had morning tea at Cootamundra alongside the park which has the Cricket Captains Walk in it. Very well done with the sculptured heads of all the people who have been captain of the Australian cricket team. The photos are the 1st captain David Gregory in 1877 and the current one Michael Clarke. Then had a look at Don Bradman's birth place but it was not open to go inside.
Lunch was at Cowra after we gave Percy a big drink of fuel. Tonight we are at Vittoria State Forest which is about 25km from Bathurst. A lovely free camp - the final photo - we have stayed here a couple of times previously...
We will be home tomorrow - about 340km to go.
So - this will be the final blog for this holiday. Thank you to everyone who has followed us along and trust that you have enjoyed the experience. We have certainly enjoyed the holiday and have seen some beautiful and unusual places. Heaps of photos have been taken - Ken will have a big job after we get home to sort them out. We get the blog printed into a bound book to keep as a permanent reminder of our holiday.
For any interested in statistics by the time we get home tomorrow we will have travelled 11,922 km over 78 days so an average of 153 km per day. Will have used approx 1,948 litres of petrol - average price as been $1.62 (used premium fuel for the whole trip). Highest price $2 and the lowest $1.42. Our average consumption was about 16.8 litres per 100 km. (Budget 17).
As most of you know Ken does a budget for the holidays & he is very happy that the whole trip came just a fraction under his $ budget (this excludes the unknowns that happened, battery for van, tyre for van & new camera). He estimated km for the trip at 11,973 so very very close to the actual.
Well that's it for this holiday. Again thank you & we trust that you did enjoy the reading and the photos.
Until next time,
Bye, Faye & Ken
Thanks for allowing us to follow your travels. It was a very enjoyable trip.
